What if I see a sick animal or a raccoon during the day?
If you see opossums or raccoons during the daylight hours roaming the streets or you yard beware! These are nocturnal animals that feed at night and are rarely seen during daylight hours so they may have rabies due to disorientation from the illness. Do not try to catch them! Call Rabies Control immediately at 253-1280 and report the last seen location of the animal. Bring your pets inside and keep them away from the other animals until the area is safe.
